Dear St. Louis Park residents,

I decided to run for this position because I am deeply committed to ensuring accountability and transparency in our city, especially for marginalized residents. Before being appointed to the council earlier this year, I actively worked to connect with city officials and advocate for the needs of our community.

In terms of my contributions to the community, I have been a strong advocate for community participation. I have collaborated with city officials to conduct door-to-door campaigns for voter registration in my community.

Additionally, I partnered with Dress for Success to initiate a walking club that aims to promote health and support among women. We provide walking shoes and fit bits, fostering conversations and motivation for a healthier lifestyle.

If elected, my focus will be on addressing the inequalities experienced by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities. I plan to accomplish this by fostering connections among community members and collaborating with individuals and organizations dedicated to social structure training and advocacy work.

Engaging residents and ensuring their involvement in decision-making and policy-making processes is crucial to me. I will try to connect with residents throughout the community, actively listening to their needs and concerns. I will be accessible through various means, including emails, text messages, and phone calls. Moreover, I will invite residents to council meetings, providing them with a platform to voice their opinions and contribute to the decision-making process.

If elected, the top three urgent issues I will address are racial equality, affordable housing, and connecting our communities with city officials. I will work towards implementing policies that promote equal opportunities and address systemic racism. I will advocate for affordable housing initiatives and seek partnerships to increase housing options for all residents. Lastly, I will strive to establish stronger connections between our communities and city officials, fostering transparency and effective communication.
